VIDEO : Tom Museeuw Shooting Kids Fashion
January 2nd, 2009 at 10:20pm
The last few weeks have been way too busy for the LIME team, so we were extremely happy that we didn’t have to produce a video ourselves this time. Instead we got a great behind-the-scenes look on a shoot by one of our best friends in the business. Tom Museeuw is an incredible photographer who specializes in kids en teen fashion photography. The best thing is that Tom is going to do a workshop about shooting kids and teens for LIME. Check out the workshop here.

Amazing model! Nice location too
Nice video again.
You have quite a speed in this site, almost everyday new issues and interesting stuff.
Great video! Go on like this, please!
Unbelievable work!! Some really great lighting you guys had there!! Just pure fantastic stuff! This is THE photoblog to watch for. WOW.
Beautiful video. Best visuals in a photography video I’ve seen!
That was amazing! Thanks a lot for that, the lighting was great and she was clearly having a blast which shows that Tom has great chemistry with his subjects!
Oh no, you did not make her bite into that lime, did you?
Awesome video. Keep em coming
Phil
PS: What’s that song? Anthony Rother by any chance?
Hi, great video once again. The pictures look awesome.
As a amateur, I always miss a bit of the technical information, but I suppose the workshops will fill in that gap
I am looking forward to the one on the 7th of february!
Amazing production… photos and especially video. Quality work, we all appreciate that effort.
this is the best video you guys made until now! The model is very good and the photos are amazing, too! Cheers,
FloH
p.s. are you planning to explain a little bit about the lighting and such things? would be nice…
Great photos, I really need to get more strobes and lighting equipment… I love the portability of your work… I loved the idea of kicking up dirt for atmosphere….
One suggestion… a little explanation for the lighting techniques used please?
Wow this video is amazing, I am not that interested in the light setups, but what makes these photos is the great ability to “play” with the model, she really shines! Awesome job Tom! I consider joining your workshop!

Great video guys, thanks always for the inspiration.
The photos are awesome, great lighting!!
I love the way the dust was kicked up to add an extra dimension not only to the background but to the lighting too - I would never have thought of that!
I find that you all end up with fairly soft lighting with your shoot through umbrellas. When I use similar setups I still find the lighting can be quite harsh - I think it’s because I personally like the really soft lighting of ring lights and beauty dishes but I can’t afford them!
I use my off camera flashes in manual mode, adjust the power output and the distance, etc but still find the light can be too contrasty.
How do you keep your light soft using the gear I see in your videos?
@ All: Tnx for your comments on the images and the movie. It was a fun testdrive for my D90 and a good exercise on video-editing.
@ Phil: She did, and enjoyed it
The song is from Qpec - “Day_Night”.
@ Liesbeth: It was not my intention to make this a tech. video, but we’ll cover that in the workshop. I will place some cookies for photographers that cover shots seen in the video on my blog soon.
@ FD-pictures, Brian Noah: as written above, there will be a blogpost about the tech. specs on my blog. I’ll write & post it in Dutch … but i’m setting up my English blog - hang on!
@ Gabby: I think that using small flashes & umbrellas is always a work in progress. Once you’ll start to get the feel, you’ll see that playing with parameters & filters can give you the “soft” results. This comment section is not the place for me to give tech. advice but i’ll keep your (good) question in mind and maybe i’ll give some tips & tricks on my English blog later on …
Yet another great video.
Thank you we are all grateful keep up the good work, it is truly inspiring!
Very nice movie with my friend Free and I love the pictures 2

Great video and it proves that even pros use Speedlights.
One thing I noticed was the big beatydish, with a Speedlight in it! Can you tell us which one it is?
Dit ziet er echt allemaal super gaaf uit! Mooie foto’s ook weer!
That was a brilliant video and looked like a really good photo shoot.
Can i ask who shot this video and what video camera did they use?
Thanks very much and please don’t stop now!
Dave
Hi,
I really enjoyed this video!
As I just made a DIY-Beauty Dish myself- I’d like to know how big is the size of your dish and which preferences ( zoom-mm, power…) do you used?
A “technical setup”-Article (in english) would be fantastic!
With best regards from germany,
Martin
Not only are all of these videos very instructional, they’re a lot of fun to watch! Keep them coming!

unbelievably inspiring and teaching!
Love the videos and the outcomes! Just outstanding.
Major props to both you and the young lady in the photo shoot. She maintained a cool and collected look in the unique children’s clothing she wore during the second shot where she was kicking up dust.
Well done
