VIDEO : Herlinde’s First Shoot
February 13th, 2009 at 12:02pm
By the end of December, we did a quick shoot with Herlinde, the younger sister of my favorite model Erika. It was the first time that she stood in front of a camera but she did really great.

Pretty cool video and definitely some great shoots. Love the B/W with the fence/path in the back.
Take care,
Phil
great video.
how much power did you need on that vivitar and giant sunbounce combo?
congratulation for this new video.
i love this B&W !
Nice video, thanks! The effect of the Sunbounce always amazes me. It’s on my wishlist but that list keeps growing every day
I like this girl so much more then her sister!
No offence Erika
Now I want a larger sunbounce thanks a lot!
Love the videos. Your photos seem to have really overpowered the sun which I would think would take a lot of power (from my experience anyways). This would also mean a slower recycle time but in the video it looks like you are shooting fairly rapidly. What power were you at? Where you using an external battery pack for your strobe? Was the video misleading?
Jeff
Nice vid! You got som really great results, Bert!
Thanks for the video !
Which wide angle lens are you using ?
Dea
Very nice video! Nice effect by flashing into the sunbounce! I also like the more wideangle shots so you see some more environment. Herlinde did a great job too for her first shoot, but probably that’s also thanks to your coordination
Also love it. The sunbounce always look very useful, and using the flash into it give great results! Congrat Bert!
I’m really looking forward to doing a workshop with you guys!
I’m waiting /hoping for Bert’s second one-week workshop (summer 2009?).
A few questions though:-
1. Will Beer be freely available?
2. Can we go clubbing with Peter?
3. Do we get to meet Erika & Herlinde?
4. What’s Belgium beer like?
Seems like the Pro sunbounce is the way to go for those on location fullbody shots!
Looks this is gonna cost me some money again
Thx for posting… Next shoot, both sisters?
@ Wattie
the Belgian Beers are like, if you drink them, even the ugly girls look like Erika and Herlinde!
So that alone is a reason to come to the workshops!! Beside ofcourse all the other very good reasons to come!
Always the best!!!
Hi Bert,
Nice video and this will give some ‘memories’ of the first LIME workshop.
Greetz,
Tom
It might be just me but the music in the LIME videos makes me think that belgium is one big dance party : ) must be fun to work there!
Great video. I’ve been meaning to buy into the Sunbounce system myself, but simply can’t decide which fabric to get. With no local supplier available here in Ireland, I can’t just go and look or try out the fabrics. I’m undecided between Silver/White and Zebra/White. Longer term I will probably end up getting both as each has their uses, but which one do you (or other users) find yourself using most?
Inspirational as usual! Your setups are so simple that I’m always surprised when I see them! Ditto on all the other comments re the sunbounce. It would also be handy to have an assistant to hold it! It’s full on summer here in Australia and I’m now looking forward to some overcast skies to try some different effects. Thanks again!
These are really nice pictures!
Great tips in this one again
It was interesting to see that you work in a controlled environment to see how a new model works and then move to a less controlled environment. Very nice.
Hello, nice vid like always, for me those vid are my workshops. Excellent photos and beautiful the models, keep doing those
kind of vids, congratulations.
Die foto’s zien er weer erg goed uit hoor!
Cool
about your 70-200, is it the F2 or the F4 version? Thanks.
hi! i really like your website! lots of very interesting stuff. a few questions:
if you’re using your 70-200 what aperture do you usually use?
and
if you bounce your flash do you still manually meter or do you use Aperture priority or Shutter priority mode?
Thanks!
I didn’t have time to look at your website for a long long time but …. goog to come back and see such great video and shots !!!
Great great great !!!!!
[...] Squeeze The Lime released this little gem of a video about “Herlinde’s Fist Photo Shoot”. Bert Stephani shows what he would normally do when braking in a new model. I found though that the video sort of morphed into this less complicated guild to portrait photo shooting. Just simply showing the user position of lights, reflectors and what lenses to use then after that show the result is just simply inspiring! Thanks Bert! –>Click Here<– [...]
