Who ?

BERT STEPHANI is an internationally known professional photographer, mostly known for his creative portraiture, commercial work and his lighting style. Bert is also a passionate teacher who’s frequently asked to conduct workshops, seminars and lectures in Belgium and the rest of Europe. Bert doesn’t believe in ’secrets’ and is always willing to share everything he knows.

What ?
A city provides you with lots of mini locations and different lighting situations within a small area. You can shoot all day in a 100 square meters area and still find different moods and compositions.
For commercial shoots you may need a shooting permit but if you are shooting for fun or don’t include any copyrighted building and recognizable people on the street, you can pretty much shoot whatever you want in a public space. Well that’s the theory at least. In reality you will, more likely than not, have to deal with crowds assembling to watch the shoot, overactive police officers, nosy neighbors and people asking how many megapixels your camera has.
To make sure that you can do your shoot, you will have to shoot fast, keep it simple and improvise on the spot without losing focus on the pictures. On this shooting day, that’s exactly what we are going to do.

For who ?
You don’t need to be a very experienced shooter to participate in this shooting day, a good understanding of the basics of photography is enough. More experienced photographers are very welcome too. Because we will work with only 4 participants there’s plenty of time for very individual guidance.

This includes personal guidance, lunch, lighting gear and model fee.
