Well.. a little late but i just got time to catch up on LIME here.
well... gears that *I* wanna see... especially from Canon since i am a canon shooter....
1) Some kind of CLS equivalent from canon.. i know there are 580EXII as master, or the ST-E2.. honestly .. i don't feel like spending the money to get the 580EXII jsut to use it as a IR master. and the ST-E2.. can only do ratio.. sometimes we want to just do pure manual setting if you know what i mean! so maybe a new ST-E2.... that look more modern and give more controls!
2) both Nikon and Canon.. com'on .. time to ditch the IR communication... we know it doesn't work well under the sun, and it doesnt' go through wall..
3) Stop cramping 20+ Mega pixel onto a sensor... but focus on noise performance... and espeically canon... 5Dm2 is much better.. but compare with D700... still need to catch up... yes I got 21Mp .. but i hardly use that!
4)fix the movie mode...or just give the user a manual mode in movie.. i want to control my aperture and ISO... not auto exposure!
5) economy is not good.. give us cheaper flash... (especially canon again... i see my friend getting their SB600 for 2/3 the price for our 430EXII!, what's up with that!)

that's all for now...

BTW, Great work! Peter and Bert!
I think the remote control light stand is do-able. only problem might be the price (yes i am serious... )

Hi Bert,

Pocket Wizards just released their new Flex and Mini models.

1. ETTL support
2. high speed sync support
3. can let you shoot faster than max flash sync speed.

what about a transparent lens-cap with "the cap's still on you moron" printed on it?

Through your viewfinder, you'll see it's still on while your model won't notice anything. You just have to put your camera casually down, change some settings and remove the cap.

You'll stil feel like you're extremely stupid, but at least your model won't think the same anymore ;)

Hi guys,

You didn't talked about the Quantum Flash thingie (http://www.qtm.com/QFlash/). They have a radio controlled TTL powerful flash solution for Nikon and Canon. I don't have any experience with it.
Coming soon is the Ranger Quadra from Elinchrom. This will be a portable battery powered 400Ws flash solution. The advantage I see in it is that we can use all our accessories we have in studio for it (umbrella's, softboxes, beauty dishes, ...). It will be radio controlled using the build in Skyport but no TTL. Elinchrom demo-ed the prototype at Photokina and I have to say, it looks like a must have piece of equipment.

Until now I use the SU-800 to control a set of SB-800. I have mixed feelings with this solution. Its handy to control everything on the camera but, as Bert says, it needs line of sight to work properly. Distance is also an issue, as is sleep ode of the SB-800 ;-). If you have one or two walking light stands, than it really comes in handy.

And then on the feature list... a camera-lens-flash combination that understands the parameters I want rather than me goeing through all the different menu options.

I am fantasise about a Canon G11 with a larger Sensor, only 6-8MP and no - I repeat NO - noise up until ISO 1600. That would really make a great point and shoot.
About the podcast: awesome, as usually

Fast 50mm f1.4... af-s, for.. Nikon..

For camera gear, McNally had a funny idea of D3something that would speak like OptimusPrime (or some characther) from Transformes. It would tell you when make a wrong lens choise and so on. More on that on his blog...

All I want is camera that will make up for all the errors that I make when Im shootting. Thats a lot of errors in lighting, frameing...
